The Daily Journal (Ogdensburg) - Friday, August 1, 1884
The Beverwyck's of Rouse's Point failed to keep their engagement to play the Franklins, at Malone, on Monday, and, instead of a match, a game was played between latter and a nine made up for the occasion. Considering that the Franklins have twice been to the expense this season of going to Rouses Point to play the Beverwycks, the failure of the latter to keep their engagement to come here is hardly courteous or fair.
